How business internet is priced

Every quote has the same shape: a monthly amount for each connection, 4G failover if you want it, a setup charge once, and any network hardware on its own line. It is sized from your bills and checked for your address, and the number comes from the quote, because what your address can get decides what is on offer.

What you pay each month

The connection

A monthly amount for each managed connection, at the speed tier your address supports, with unlimited or capped data. An Enterprise Ethernet service is its own monthly line.

The add-ons

4G failover is a monthly add-on per site. A fax service, for the businesses that still need one, is another. A static IP address is an extra on a managed connection.

What you pay once

Setup. A one-off charge for a managed NBN service that covers installing and configuring the equipment to suit your network, a gentle migration from your previous connection, testing scan to email, and connecting your computers and laptops. It does not cover moving your phone system, which is a separate line.

The modem. Included with a managed NBN service.

Network hardware. A 4G router, a switch or a wireless access point are sold one-off and set out in the quote, so you can see what the office needs and what it costs.

Porting. Moving phone numbers is its own line, in the phone part of a combined proposal.

The NBN Co fee for a new installation. Where NBN Co charges it for your address, it is its own line on the quote, so you see it before you sign.

What is not included

Terms

The term is the one your quote states, under our standard terms, which come with it. An ordinary managed NBN quote sets no fixed term of its own and runs under those standard terms. A Fibre on Demand upgrade is a 12-month commitment, and Enterprise Ethernet is a 36-month term. Setup and the first month are due on signing; after that the service is paid by direct debit.

Comparing quotes

Compare the whole cost, not one line: the line itself, the hardware that came with it, and whatever it took to make it work. Send us the lot and we will put our number beside it in writing.
